VNG Corporation – Visualizing the Project Timeline
Continuing with the Teamhood customer series, we had the pleasure of chatting with Tran Thi Tuyet Loan, an Accounts & Operations manager at the VNG Corporation in Vietnam. As the leader of the Design and Development department in the company, she shared the reasons for choosing Teamhood and her experiences with the tool.
About VNG Corporation
VNG Corporation is a Vietnamese technology company founded in 2004. Recently, this technology powerhouse was titled the first Vietnamese Unicorn. The company works in creating digital content, online entertainment, social networking, and e-commerce solutions. Most users will recognize VNG from their online games, digital payment solutions, and cloud services.
Design and development department
The design and development (DnD for a shorter version) department operates as an internal creative agency for VNG. Their role is to support game studios launching in various markets, including SEA, Latin America, India, and Dubai. As such, they are responsible for creating design materials such as key visuals, banners, posters, and websites, 3D game models like characters, game assets, environments, and landscapes, and video production such as music videos, TVCs, short ads, and OOH ads for new game launches and marketing campaigns.
As the Accounts and Operations manager, Tran Thi Tuyet Loan oversees the creative projects, builds internal processes, and manages clients and the marketing budget while achieving the set objectives.
As the Accounts & Operations Manager at DnD, my job is to oversee the quantity and quality of all creative projects, and build internal working processes. I manage key clients (internal game studios at VNG), establish connections with new clients and suppliers in Thailand and China, and ensure the best possible outcomes for our customers.

Why Teamhood?
To manage the projects within the DnD department, Loan sought a tool that would help in handling task assignments, timeline management, and status updates. The main requirement for this solution was ease of use for the team members when assigning and executing daily tasks.
At first, the department tried using ClickUp, Monday, and Trello, but their interface and user experience design did not meet the team’s expectations. Thus, other options were considered and the team discovered Teamhood.
The team decided to go forth with Teamhood as it met the previously listed requirements and had a good support service. With the help of the account manager Loan was able to set up and successfully start tracking the team’s processes.

Teamhood helped the VNG corporation department simplify the process of creating and managing projects. The team uses it to track the project timeline, task statuses, and overall progress.
Furthermore, the customizable notifications ensure that everyone is informed of the latest progress and is up-to-date.
Teamhood is a useful tool that simplifies the process of creating and managing projects. Not only does it help us manage our team members’ workload and task status, but it also makes it easy for everyone to access the platform and track their daily tasks.
This allows us to monitor progress and keep track of any comments or updates.

Moreover, the implementation of Teamhood, allowed the DnD department to centralize the information from different teams and their leaders. Previously, different teams relied on different tooling, which made tracking the progress and data quite complex and time-consuming.
Now, each project the team is working on is represented with the help of a separate board. The structure within is a bit different from those you will find in most teams.
The DnD department uses rows to visualize the tasks that have to be completed for the project and the item cards to represent the different internal teams that are working on those tasks. To track the progress, they utilize the Gantt view in which each item (in this case standing for an internal team) is given a different color to visualize the responsibility.
Favorite features
Loan and her team use Gantt view, item details, and notifications in their daily work. When asked about their favorite Teamhood feature, it was sorting and tracking the item activity and comments in the task details. Which allows them to see what progress has been made and when.
We find Teamhood to be very user-friendly, and it consolidates all the essential features we require. Additionally, Teamhood consistently updates new functions based on user needs, which we greatly appreciate.
